You may have realized some web pages designed for British Columbia Travel do not operate in certain browsers, notably versions of Opera, WebTV and some versions of Netscape.

The majority of web sites in the WWW are optimized for Internet Explorer.
Read why we feel designing a web site for this format would be the best choice.

There's almost no way to make sure that every aspect of every site works 100% without fail in every browser on every operating system for every computer on earth.

So most sites need to adopt a policy of 'majority rules', that is, if something works okay for 99% of the users, that's good enough.

To cater to that remaining 1% a site would need to abandon the things that make it better for the majority and that just isn't too smart. Sadly, in this case, you're in that 1%. WebTV is a sick joke and Opera just implements too differently to be compatible with some pages.

1) We suggest that you download and install a new browser. Internet Explorer is completely free and available for most platforms and operating systems. There's a lot of great stuff on the web that you're missing by using such an old browser.
(i.e. Internet Explorer 3, 4, Netscape 3)

2) If you're an Opera and/or Netscape fan, we know you intend to ignore #1 and that's your choice. Just be aware that by choosing to use these browsers you do place yourself outside the mainstream and will not be assured of compatibility like an Internet Explorer user.

3) We know some people are unable to upgrade either by being stuck with a very old computer that won't run new software or by not being allowed to upgrade due to work restrictions, using public-access computers in a library or school, etc. In this case there is no immediate solution.
