ABOUT BOWRON LAKE

Within Bowron Lake Park, 121,600 hectare in size, lies an unique canoe circuit of eleven lakes and interconnecting waterways. This rectangular water system forms a 116 km (73 miles) chain of lakes. No other canoe circuit combines the spectacular mountain scenery, placid lakes, rushing streams and varied wildlife of the Bowron Lakes. This Provincial Park is a wildlife sanctuary with a diverse range of habitats. Bird watching, wildlife viewing and photography are favorite pastimes of its visitors. Majestic snow-capped mountain peaks, rising to 2500 m (8125 ft), form the scenic backdrop to the canoe route.
